Libyan HoR Foreign Committee urges for boosting relations with Turkey

The Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) Yousef Al-Agori said in meeting with members from Turkish Parliament it was important to boost joint cooperation, including opening Turkish consulate in Benghazi and easing visa requirements for Libyans to Turkey as well as activating joint trade agreements, in addition to paving the way for the rerun of the Turkish firms to resume work on suspended projects.

Al-Agori reiterated during the virtual meeting the importance of cooperation between the Libyan HoR and the Turkish Parliament including exchange of expertise, stressing the need for the withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from the country and urged Turkey to have a role in Libya’s stability, including the success of December 24 elections.

Meanwhile, the member of the HoR, Salim Agnan, stressed the importance of joint relations with Turkey, urging for resuming direct flights between Turkey and eastern and southern Libyan airports.

Turkish lawmakers said their country was keen on boosting bilateral relations with Libya.
