Libyan HoR: Roadmap committee will devise new roadmap

The spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) Abdullah Blehiq has confirmed that the HoR, after Monday and Tuesday sessions in Tobruk, has stressed that the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum’s roadmap continues in place until a new roadmap is devised for the next phase with the assistance and cooperation of all actors.

The HoR spokesman reiterated that the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) didn’t inform the HoR through official channels about the delay of elections to January 24.

It’s worth noting that the HoR summoned at the end of Monday’s session the Head of the HNEC, Emad Al-Sayeh, for deliberation on the issue of the postponement of the December 24 vote, but the latter didn’t arrive in Tobruk on Tuesday and the session was suspended so it would be convened again next wee.

Blehiq also confirmed that the HoR session voted on considering the ambassador of the United Kingdom to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, persona non grata, citing her meddling in Libyan domestic affairs.

“The HoR will inform the Foreign Ministry to communicate with the relevant authorities to let the British ambassador aware of the Libyan HoR position.” Blehiq said.
