Libyan national Abdulrahman Gaja released from Saudi detention

Libya’s Ministry of Interior has announced the release of Libyan national Abdulrahman Gaja from Saudi Arabia after being detained there since last March, indicating that it is following up on the conditions of all Libyans detained in foreign countries.

‎A statement by the Interior Ministry said that Gaja was detained based on an arrest warrant issued by the International Police in Tunisia, expressing its appreciation to the Tunisian and Saudi governments for their cooperation in releasing the Libyan citizen.

‎The Ministry of Interior also confirmed that it was working on following up on the conditions of all Libyan citizens detained in other countries, in cooperation with the relevant institutions and ministries in the Government of National Unity.

‎The release came after the Ministry of Interior announced at the end of last week that it was able to cancel the arrest warrant issued by the Tunisian Arab and International Criminal Police Office against Gaja.
