Libyan PM blames HoR for failing to hold elections

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said there will be no other executive authority or another transitional period after the excuses that said securing elections isn’t ready have fallen out of context, as the Ministry of Interior conducted a virtual simulation electoral process from various cities and regions in the country.

Hakomitna media platform said the remarks came as Dbeibah and the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, participated Saturday in a virtual simulation of the electoral process.

“I urge all political parties to focus on elections and to vie for power through elections only,” Dbeibah said, accusing the House of Representatives (HoR) of being responsible for the failure of holding elections, and pointing out that the government had fulfilled its logistical obligations in the electoral process despite distortion attempts.
