Libyan PM, German Minister review political and economic cooperation

The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, has agreed with the Minister of State at the German Foreign Ministry, Katja Keul, to support the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), as well as the international conference on immigration that will be organized in Tripoli next July.

Dbeibah received Keul in his office in Tripoli on Sunday in the presence of the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumua, and the German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed international efforts to support elections in accordance with fair and impartial laws. They also touched on the international conference on combating illegal immigration and border security, which was scheduled to be held on July 17.

The two parties agreed to support the efforts of UNSMIL, increase economic cooperation between the two countries, and expand participation in the annual German-Libyan Economic Forum in order to increase job and investment opportunities for the private and public sectors.
