The Libyan Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, has stressed the importance of continuing joint work with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to create the appropriate conditions for holding elections and ending the transitional phase in order achieve stability in the country.
This reiteration came during Dbeibah’s meeting with the acting UN envoy, Stephanie Koury, as the two parties discussed the current political developments in Libya and the ongoing efforts to achieve sustainable stability.
According to the GNU, Dbeibah stressed the importance of cooperation with UNSMIL to support national dialogue and achieve permanent stability in a way that “preserves the independence of the Libyan decision and its sovereignty over national institutions.”
