Libyan PM stresses to US State Secretary need to withdraw all mercenaries

The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said that he had a productive meeting with the Libyan interim Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, on Thursday morning, following the Berlin II Conference on Libya.

Blinken said on Twitter that the US is committed to supporting the Libyan people as they work toward national elections in December 2021.

Meanwhile, Dbeibah said on Twitter that he had met with Blinken to discuss the his government’s work towards restoring stability, reconciliation, and rebuilding.

Dbeibah added that he had thanked Blinken for the US support as Libya prepares for elections, and emphasized the urgency of removing all foreign mercenaries from the country.
