Libyan PM vows to lead country to elections

The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, has vowed to lead Libyan through one path only: elections, saying there will be no more parallel governments, fake budgets or transitional periods.

Libyan GNU cabinet arrived in Ghadames by plane on Thursday morning to hold a meeting in Ghadames – southwest of Tripoli.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting in Ghadames city – about 580 km from Tripoli – Dbeibah indicated that his Government of National Unity (GNU) would continue to work until the holding of elections, reiterating that cabinet ministers “should stay away from political statements in favor of one party of another.”

Dbeibah said that cabinet members were required to avoid creating division in the political scene in the country, advising those who couldn’t commit themselves to transparency and fair leadership to leave their positions to others.
