Libyan Presidential Council discusses security developments with military leaders

Deputy Heads of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi and Mossa Al-Koni, in the capacity of the Chief Commander of the Army, discussed with a number of military and security leaders the developments in the situation in various countries during an exceptional meeting at the headquarters of the General Staff in Tripoli.

The military and security leaders provided a comprehensive briefing on the security and military situation in the country, in addition to discussing several files and issues related to the military and security aspects, in addition to what measures can be taken to follow up on the situation nationwide.

The Presidential Council also stressed the need for continuous follow-up on the military and security situation to maintain the security and stability of the country.

The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, Abdul Salam Zubi, Assistant Chief of Staff, Salah Al-Namroush, and the heads of the Internal Security and Stability Support Services, Lotfi Al-Harari and Abdul Ghani Al-Kikli, in addition to other leaders.

The House of Representatives issued a decision on Tuesday to strip the Presidential Council of the title of Commander-in-Chief of the Army and grant it to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, which was widely rejected by stakeholders.
