Libyan Prime Minister submits presidential bid

The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, submitted Sunday his candidacy for presidential elections, which are scheduled to be held on December 24, raising the number of presidential candidates to 61, according to the High National Elections Commission (HNEC).

After submitting his candidacy paperwork in Tripoli, Dbeibah said he wants to serve the Libyan people and urged them not to lose hope as “Libya is going on the right track and he intends to continue leading them on that track.”

Dbeibah reiterated in a brief speech at the HNEC center in Tripoli that there will be no more war in the country, adding that Libya will be united and sovereign from now on.
