Libya’s Foreign Minister urges the US to take clear stance toward offensive on Tripoli

The Libyan Foreign Minister, Mohammed Sayala, has called on regional powers, especially the United States, to take a clear stance toward the ongoing aggression against Tripoli.

Commenting on the statement of the spokesperson of the US Department of State, Sayala said the offensive on the capital and Libyan Army positions, especially the units which were fighting ISIS, is the reason behind the ongoing crisis.

“The Government of National Accord is the only legitimate government in Libya and only representative of the Libyan people.” Sayala explained.

He added that Khalifa Haftar’s offensive on Tripoli is hindering stability and is getting in the way of building a civilian state detached from military dictatorship in Libya.
