The Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala has called in a letter to the UN Security Council, to take up – now more than ever – responsibility toward the Libyan people by condemning Khalifa Haftar’s aggression on Tripoli, which has been ongoing since April 2019.
Libya’s Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala said Monday that Haftar’s continuous rocket attacks on civilians in Tripoli have crossed all lines.
He added that Haftar keeps attacking civilians in Old Town (Medina) of Tripoli and elsewhere in and around the capital while the world is uniting against outbreak of Coronavirus.
Libya’s Foreign Minister indicated that Haftar’s rocket attack on Tripoli’s Old Town endangers historical sites and cultural heritage of the country, asking the Security Council to take a firm stance against these violations.
