Libya’s Foreign Ministry welcomes appointment of Kubis as UN envoy


The Libyan Foreign Ministry has welcomed the appointment of the new United Nations envoy, Jan Kubis, to the country, in the place of the Lebanese Ghassan Salame who quit last March for “health reasons”

The Libyan Foreign Ministry also reiterated commitment to helping Kubis carry out his job in establishing peace and stability via the Libyan dialogue tracks.

The Libyan Foreign Ministry said it feels good about the new Head of UN Support Mission for his good international reputation as being a foreign minister in Slovakia and afterwards an international figure in different places.

It also added that the positions held by the upcoming Head of UNSMIL in Lebanon, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Iraq have had promising impact toward peace and stability.
