Libya’s GNA declares start of liberating Tripoli International Airport from Haftar’s militias

The Libyan Army forces under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) has officially announced the beginning of “The Battle of Liberation of Tripoli International Airport” from Khalifa Haftar’s militias.

The spokesman for the Libyan Army Mohamed Gununu said Wednesday that orders had been given to the forces to advance on Haftar’s terrorist militias in Tripoli International Airport.

Gununu also said that the GNA forces had been successful in laying a siege to the Tripoli International Airport to pave the way for liberating it from the terrorist militias under Haftar’s command.

“Our forces have regained control in this week of all the military camps in southern Tripoli.” Gununu remarked.

He also said that the Libyan Air Force had carried out three airstrikes over the last hours, hitting a tanks battalion in Qasir Benghashir and destroyed a tank inside Tripoli International Airport.
