Libya’s GNA forces repel attacks by Haftar’s militias in southern Tripoli

The commander of control room of the Libyan Army under the command of the Government of National Accord, Salim Aburawi, said Burkan Al-Ghadab Operation forces had repelled an attempt to advance on Salah Al-Deen frontline by Khalifa Haftar’s militias early on Sunday.

Aburawi told Libya Alahrar TV that the GNA forces had caused Haftar’s militias heavy losses as they attempted to advance.

He also indicated that the Libyan Army and backup forces are always ready to deal with any attacks, saying clashes with Haftar’s militias are still ongoing.

In the meantime, the commander of Guwiya-Garabulli frontline Mohammed Al-Aeib has said that the forces of the Government of National Accord ( GNA) have repelled an attempt to advance on the frontline by Khalifa Haftar’s militias in Khawliq area.

The commander told Libya Alahrar TV on Saturday that GNA forces had caused Haftar’s militias masisve losses in equipment and fighters before pushing them to their previous positions.

Meanwhile, a military source from the GNA said their forces had advanced on different areas on Matabbat Street of Khallatat frontline, while an uneasy calm descended on Wadi Rabea frontline in southern Tripoli.
