Libya’s Interior Minister: We identified armed group that assaulted Tripoli protesters

The Libyan Interior Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Fathi Bashagha said they are ready and prepared to protect all protesters from riots and “thugs” who don’t represent the Burkan Al-Ghadab forces.

Bashagha said in a statement Thursday that they had depicted an armed group that has assaulted demonstrators in Tripoli’s Martyrs Square, adding that they had known to what party the armed group was loyal.

GNA’s Interior Minister said armed groups were trying to seize the rights of the demonstrators of free speech, adding that the ministry could use force to protect Libyans and their peaceful protests as per its legal and moral obligations to the people pf Libya.

“We won’t allow anyone to shed the blood of Libyans or to deny them their constitutional rights to peaceful protests.” Bashagha added.
