Libya’s Presidential Council suspends participation in Geneva dialogue in response to Tripoli port’s attack

The Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) has suspended its participation in Geneva dialogue of the 5+5 military commission, calling for firm actions against the aggressor and its violations.

The Libyan Presidential Council vowed in a statement on Tuesday to respond to the violations done by Khalifa Haftar’s militias at the right time and place, adding that the negotiations would be useless if the ceasefire didn’t get consolidated and respected by the aggressor and if the IDPs didn’t return to their houses.

The statement added that condemnation isn’t enough for what Haftar is doing in Libya since such violations need local and international arrest warrants as the international community needs to take tangible actions toward Haftar and the countries supporting him.
