The Libyan General Authority for Research and Identification of Missing Persons unearthed on Friday a mass grave of 11 bodies in Sirte’s Al-Giza Al-Bahriya District, adding that the corpses will be taken to laboratories for forensic investigation.
On December 17, 2016, Sirte was liberated from the grip of the ISIS terrorist group after heavy fighting under the coalition of forces known as Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous Operation.
Discoveries of mass graves have become common in Libya, especially in Tarhouna city, a former stronghold for Khalifa Haftar and his allied militias of Al-Kaniyat.
