Menfi, German special envoy stress need for agreement to reach national elections

‎The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, discussed on Sunday in Tripoli with the German Special Envoy to Libya, Christian Buck, and the Chargé d’Affaires to Libya the importance of reaching an agreement to hold elections according to principles agreed upon by all parties, and stressed the necessity of bringing the country to a stage of complete stability and construction.

The meeting reviewed the overall developments in the situation in Libya in light of political and economic developments, according to a statement issued by Menfi’s media office.

The statement indicated that the German Envoy praised Menfi’s pivotal role in resolving the Libyan crisis, stressing his country’s interest in the necessity of establishing “peace and stability in Libya, achieving the outcomes of the Berlin tracks, and supporting all local, regional, and international efforts to reach a stable state through fair and transparent elections in which everyone participates without exclusion.”

Menfi hailed the distinguished and supportive German role in Libya and to the Presidential Council, as well as their efforts to achieve the outcomes of the Berlin tracks with the aim of achieving peace in Libya and reaching general elections.
