Menfi vows to work on unifying Libya’s military institution

The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has reiterated that hw will support the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) to unite the Libyan military institution based on nationalism, patriotism and professionalism.

Menfi said in a video statement on Friday that the Presidential Council would work with the Government of National Unity (GNU) to pave the way for ending Libyans’ suffering in issues like the vaccines for the Coronavirus, and electricity and cash crises.

Menfi also called on the international community to live up to its commitments toward the Libyan people and implement the resolutions of the UN Security Council, including ending the negative foreign intervention, violations of the arms embargo and preserving Libya’s frozen assets.

He indicated that general elections in Libya must be held on schedule so that peaceful power circulation can be the norm from now on in the country, adding that the crisis in Libya needs everyone to be committed to the law and democracy.
