NACC: Legal-position holders should provide financial disclosure

The head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), Numan Al-Sheikh, said that all holders of legal positions must provide financial disclosure by law.

Al-Sheikh stated that everyone would be informed and obliged to fill the financial disclosure forms, adding that “we will act against anyone who refuses.”

Al-Sheikh said that the NACC signed the cooperation protocol with the interior ministry in three different areas; financial entitlements, money laundering crimes and illicit enrichment, investigation, information gathering, whistleblowers, witnesses and experts protection, as well as capacity building.

“We are working intensively regarding duplication, and the findings are shocking. We monitored corruption and manipulation in the general budget,” said Al-Sheikh.” He stressed that “we would fruitfully cooperate with the finance ministry in the coming months.”
