Sirte Protection and Security Force has refuted news about airstrikes targeting the city Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The spokesman for the Sirte Protection and Security Force Taha Hadid urged media outlets which published the news to look for professional journalism and to deliver fact news not fabrications that send people into panic.
Several local media outlets circulated news that says southern Sirte was targeted by airstrikes that left deaths and injuries.
Meanwhile, Anadolu Agency reported eyewitnesses as saying that drones were flying over the city but carried out no attacks in Sirte.
On December 20 2019, Sirte Protection and Security Force said five of its personnel were killed and others injured in UAE drone attacks in support of Khalifa Haftar. The strike hit an anti-ISIS patrol in southern Sirte.
