The National Oil Corporation (NOC) discussed the demands of the Fezzan Movement during a meeting with representatives of the movement and social leaders in the region.
The two sides agreed to form a committee to follow up on the implementation and support the efforts of the NOC, according to an NOC’s statement.
On August 07, the NOC declared a state of force majeure on Sharara oil field after its closure days earlier. It said in a letter addressed to partners and foreign customers that the state of force majeure would not apply to the loading and unloading of oil production.
The NOC has said it will announce a return of operations to normal at a later time once the circumstances that led to the use of force majeure have been removed.
NOC had previously announced the start of a partial reduction in production from Sharara field due to force majeure conditions resulting from “protests by the Fezzan Movement.”
