OCHA: Over 450.000 Libyans are in need for humanitarian support

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a May report on Libya that over 18,000 displaced people returned to their houses since December 2020.

OCHA added on Wednesday that average food prices in Libya are still almost 12% higher compared to pre-COVID-19 levels.

“About 61,000 people in Libya have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19.” OCHA explained in its humanitarian situation report.

According to the report, the Libya Humanitarian Response Plan asks for $189 million to support 451,000 people, while 81% of the plan requirement is still unmet.
