Libya’s Ministry of Justice of the Government of National Accord said on Saturday that the Public Prosecution had ordered the release of 466 prisoners from Tripoli Rehabilitation Center as part of precautionary measures against the outbreak of Coronavirus.
It added that the release comes at the recommendation of the Supreme Council of Judiciary in order to decrease the number of prisoners to avoid crowdedness.
The Ministry of Justice indicated that the released prisoners included people under interrogation, and those who are eligible for parole, and some persons who are included in earlier release orders from the beginning of the crisis till March 27, in addition to some Arab and foreign nationals.
