Parliament gives Confidence to Libya’s Unity Government

The House of Representatives (HoR) has given confidence to the Government of National Unity (GNU) with a vote of majority of the attendees in Sirte.

The GNU, headed by Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, won confidence by 132 votes including the vote of the Speaker of the HoR, Aqila Saleh.

Saleh said after the vote that the mandate of the GNU will end on December 24, 2021 as per the roadmap of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) which was the one that elected Dbeibah as a Prime Minister, along with the Presidential Council.

The GNU’s PM, Dbeibah, vowed in a brief speech after winning confidence that he will do his best to work as per the schedule that shall end by holding general elections on December 24, 2021.
