Power outages sweep through Benghazi

The Prime Minister of the parallel government, Osama Hammad, discussed with his Minister of Electricity, Awad Al-Badri, the power outage crisis that the city of Benghazi had been suffering from over the last few days.

The meeting, which was attended by a number of officials from the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) in the east, discussed the reasons for the emergency outage that occurred at Al-Hadika power station, which led to a power outage in large areas of Benghazi.

Hammad instructed Al-Badri to take urgent measures to resolve the power outage crisis, including contracting a specialized foreign company to repair broken cables.

He also asked the Minister to communicate with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GECOL, Mohammed Al-Mashay, to provide the necessary solutions to the outage problem in Benghazi.
