The minister of transportation of the Government of National Accord (GNA) participated in the joint Libyan-Italian committee’s regular meeting to discuss the latest developments in the plans for constructing the Misurata-Ras Ejder road.
The meeting held in the HQs of the Highway implementation and management authority in Tripoli on Tuesday discussed a brief report about the latest steps towards the call for tender for the fourth sector of the road.
The minister looked into the difficulties that still need direct the governmental institutions’ intervention, including the ministries of treasury and planning. He also inspected the latest arrangements with several municipal councils to secure administrative headquarters and work-camps to enable proper construction work supervision.
He guided the relevant personnel to determine the essential elements that hinder the Libyan side from meeting its commitments to enable real implementation work. He also asserted the importance of working with the rest of the relevant government sectors to solve the problems facing the project.
