Presidential candidacy registration has ended, Libya’s HNEC says

The Libyan High National Elections Commission (HNEC) said registration for the presidential elections has ended after 61 candidates submitted their candidacies: 10 in Benghazi, 6 in Sabha and 45 in Tripoli.

The HNEC was supposed to conduct a press conference following the end of registration process for presidential elections, but announced on its social media platforms that the conference was postponed.

In the meantime, the HNEC said the number of candidates’ submissions for parliamentary elections has reached 1535 so far, while the number of voter cards received by the Libyan people reached 1.5 million, with only 32 days to go for December 24 elections.
