Qatar’s Foreign Ministry reiterates support for Libya’s ceasefire agreement

The Foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammed Al Thani reiterated in a meeting Monday with the Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri Doha’s support for the ceasefire agreement that was signed in Geneva last month.

The two officials discussed in Doha the latest developments in the Libyan political situation as the Qatari Foreign Minister reaffirmed support for the peaceful political solution in Libya.

Al-Mishri hailed the role and efforts of Qatar in resolving the crisis in Libya and in pushing forward the political process.

Al-Mishri, and his accompanying delegation, visited the Qatari Shura Council in Doha on Sunday, and met with its Speaker o Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud.

During the meeting, the two officials reviewed the cooperation relations between the two countries, especially in the parliamentary field and ways to support and develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the situation in Libya.

Al-Mishri also met with Qatar’s Emir Tamim Al Thani to discussed the latest developments in Libya, reviewing the developments in the ongoing political and military dialogues as well as the Qatari role in efforts to end the Libyan conflict.
