Resuming exports from the Ras Lanuf ethylene plant

Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Manufacturing Company announced the export of the first shipments of its ethylene plant to global markets after a hiatus that lasted around a decade.

At the beginning of this month, the tanker ‘Antikithira’ docked at the Ras Lanuf Oil Port to load an amount estimated at more than 6,000 metric tons of a quaternary carbon mixture, which will be shipped to China.

For his part, Omar Fayez, Board of Directors Member for Operations and Maintenance, confirmed that the company has entered the international market, praising the workforce’s efforts in achieving this success.”

On April 15, 1987, the Yugoslav HIP Company established the ethylene plant before handing over operations to the Libyan staff of Ras Lanuf Company in 1992.
