Royal Jordanian Airlines mulls resuming flights to and from Tripoli

A delegation from the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority arrived in Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport on a field visit on last Saturday to review the relevant equipment and procedures followed at the airport.

The delegation also went over the procedures followed in the airport’s operation process as well as the extent of their compliance with internationally recognized requirements, The Ministry of Transportation said.

The Ministry indicated that after this visit, the delegation will decide on the possibility of operating a direct flight line between Libya and Jordan on board Royal Jordanian Airlines. It added that the Jordanian delegation held a meeting at the airport administration headquarters to discuss the operational procedures and security and safety measures followed at the airport.

The meeting included a Libyan team from the Civil Aviation Authority and the Airports Authority. another meeting was held with the handling and ground services’ companies operating at Mitiga Airport.
