Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi’s candidacy to Libya’s presidential vote is legal, team says

Middle East Monitor has reported that Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi’s electoral campaign team claims he is legally allowed to run for president because the constitutional basis was not subject to discussion or a matter of dispute, nor was it addressed until after the electoral process had been halted and force majeure was enforced.

Gaddafi, the son, has called for opening the way for everyone to run in Libya’s presidential elections, while his team underscored  that the points of contention among the parties were added to what was agreed upon between representatives of House of Representatives and the High Council of State to exclude the candidates who were the subject of court rulings.
