Sanalla’s Board of Directors accuses Dbeibah-loyal armed group of installing Bengdara by force

A statement by the official Facebook page of the National Oil corporation (NOC) has accused an armed faction affiliated with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, of installing Farhat Bengdara as new Chairman of the NOC by force after storming the headquarters in Tripoli.

The statement said an armed group of masked gunmen stormed the NOC headquarters on Thursday and assaulted some employees, leading to the hindering of the work of the NOC and spreading panic and intimidation.

“We condemn the attempt of some parties to twist the law and implement foreign agenda as well as dubious political deals by force.” The NOC said in a statement, holding Dbeibah, whom it described as a mandate-expired PM, accountable along with the “so-called transition committee and Bengdara” the full legal responsibility for what’s happening at the NOC headquarters.

The NOC’s statement reiterated that it would file an official complaint with the Libyan Attorney General to protect the independent NOC for the benefit of all Libyans.
