Suicide bomber kills two in Libya’s south

Two criminal investigation apparatus officers were killed and four others were injured in a car bomb explosion that targeted Sunday a checkpoint in Al-Maziq crossroad, northern Sabha, in south Libya, Libya Alahrar TV correspondent has confirmed.

Sabha municipal council issued a statement after the attack, offering condolences to the commander of the criminal investigation apparatus, Ibrahim Abdelnabi, and the other officer who were killed in the car bomb blast that was rendered by the Sabha security directorate as a terrorist car bomb attack.

Following the incident, the Libyan Interior Ministry condemned “the cowardly terrorist attack”, instructing Sabha security apparatuses to carry out a thorough investigation to bring to justice the masterminds behind the blast, knowing that the suicide bomber killed himself in the bombing.

The Interior Ministry also urged the Sabha security personnel and forensic to scour for details and DNA that could lead to the identity of the suicide bomber.
