The High Council of State calls on “Al-Kabir” to bear responsibilities

The High Council of State (HCS) has called on the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Saddiq Al-Kabir, to bear the responsibility of putting an urgent end to parallel spending from so-called unknown sources and to put matters in their proper framework.

The HCS also called in a statement to quickly take measures to stop the circulation of the fifty dinar note and expedite its withdrawal.

It called for following up on measures taken by the Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the counterfeit currency, opening an independent administrative investigation into what it described as a “serious security breach” and seeking the assistance of the regulatory agencies within the state to ensure accurate results.

The Council demanded that they be provided with a clear and transparent report on the forgery incident and the emergence of the parallel spending crisis and its causes.
