Abdul Hakim Al-Shaab, member of the board of directors of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), has stated that the electoral appeals phase related to the elections of 60 municipalities this year is still ongoing.
Al-Shaab explained in a statement to Libya Al-Ahrar that the HNEC will begin issuing voter cards for all targeted municipalities by mid-August after the appeals period ends.
The HNEC had closed the voter registry on July 13 with a total number of registered voters exceeding 200,000.
