The Presidency of the High Council of State holds discussions with a high-level American delegation

Mohamed Takala, the President of the High Council of State (HCS), and his two deputies met with a high-level American delegation including Special Envoy Ambassador Richard Norland, the Deputy Head of Mission Jeremy Berndt, and the Head of the Political Bureau Lindsay Coffey, and Political Affairs Officer Claire Ashcroft at the Council’s headquarters in the capital Tripoli.

The meeting discussed the important political developments in the country and ways to push forward the political process, find solutions that achieve stability in Libya, and unify efforts to hold parliamentary and presidential elections based on the 6+6 electoral laws.

The US Ambassador later on met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, in Benghazi where similar discussions were held regarding recent political developments.
