The Tax Authority announces its highest revenues since its establishment

The Tax Authority announced that it achieved record levels for the year 2023 after its revenues increased compared to 2022.

The Tax Authority said that the total revenues generated by the Libyan Tax Authority in 2023 exceeded 3 billion Libyan dinars.

The Authority explained that it achieved a surplus estimated at 808.3 million dinars for the year 2022, which was an increase of 37% during the period from the beginning of January to the end of December.

The Authority stated that the tax revenues – public revenues – achieved during the year 2023 amounted to more than 2.542 billion dinars, i.e. an increase of 58% over the general budget estimate of 1.6 billion dinars.

The Authority indicated that income taxes in 2023 amounted to more than 1.526 billion dinars, noting that stamp tax revenues amounted to 979.2 million dinars and that the fines tax amounted to 36.7 million dinars.

The Authority explained that revenues from execution rights amounted to more than 608 million Libyan dinars, and revenues from deposits amounted to more than 474.5 million Libyan dinars.

For his part, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, praised what the Tax Authority achieved, considering that these data confirm the strengthening of stability and economic recovery, and the provision of a competitive environment that contributes to diversifying government revenues and controlling the state’s financial policy.
