The Washington Post: UAE drones kill Libyan civilians and fuel the war

The Washington Post has said United Arab Emirates’ drones are killing civilians in Libya and are increasingly fueling the conflict.

The newspaper added on Sunday that Chinese-made Wing Loong drones deployed by the UAE are playing a pivotal role in the offensive on Tripoli by Khalifa Haftar.

It indicated that in recent weeks, the increasing aerial war and an influx of Russian mercenaries have built momentum for Haftar’s ambitions to control Libya.

“The United Nations has documented over 1000 drone strikes since the start of the aggression on Tripoli on April 04.

Over the last days, civilians and fighters have been killed by drone strikes by Haftar’s forces’ UAE backers, according to the state official statements and Burkan Al-Ghadab Operation’s media office. The drone strikes targeted Misrata, Msallata, Zliten and Sirte.
