Tripoli and Moscow discuss the resumption of suspended projects

The Russian Ambassador to Libya, Haider Aghanin, indicated seeking to collaborate with the Libyan authorities to activate the work of the joint committee between the two countries, as well as activating previous agreements and resuming suspended projects.

In his meeting with the Deputy President of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, Aghanin considered that his country is a strategic partner for Libya in all fields due to its keenness on its stability and its support for the Libyan economy to achieve sustainable development.

Ambassador Aghanin reviewed his country’s vision for developing Libyan-Russian relations in many fields, stressing the desire to increase the level of economic and academic cooperation, and interest in development projects, in addition to resuming the work of the embassy with its full staff from Tripoli.

The meeting addressed the latest developments at the local and regional levels and several political and economic files of common interest.

For his part, Al-Koni reaffirmed the Council’s support for the efforts of the UN envoy Abdullah Bathily, calling for a comprehensive dialogue aimed at ending the state of political impasse in order to reach elections under fair laws that will lead the country to safety.

Al-Koni also renewed Libya’s position on the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip, expressing his satisfaction with the Russian position towards the aggression and calling for coordination of international position towards the Palestinian issue.
