The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has reiterated Washington’s commitment to supporting Libya to regain its national unity and sovereignty, according to the spoeksman for the Foreign Ministry Mohammed Al-Giblawi.
Al-Giblawi said Trump’s remarks came Wednesday in a letter to the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj on the occasion of Libya Independence Day, which will be celebrated by Libyans on December 24.
He added that Trump said the ceasefire and progress of the political dialogue are good signs for ending conflicts in the country.
“Trump urged the Head of the Presidential Council and all Libyans to continue to work on finding a political solution to the conflict in the country.” Al-Giblawi said on Twitter.
He explained that Trump also reiterated Washington’s support to Libya in order to regain national unity and sovereignty as two important conditions to ensure stability against security, economic and humanitarian challenges.
