Uneasy calm descends on Ain Zara, as GNA forces vow to respond to Haftar’s attacks

The commander of Ain Zara frontline Yousif Al-Ameen has said that there is a relative calm on the frontlines after Khalifa Haftar’s militias have breached the ceasefire more than once lately.

Al-Ameen told Libya Alahrar TV on Saturday that the forces under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) had reinforced their capabilities on Ain Zara frontline and would be ready to repel any attacks by Haftar’s militias.

He also added that an uneasy calm had descended on the rest of frontlines in southern Tripoli, saying Burkan Al-Ghadab forces of the GNA would respond to any ceasefire breaches by Haftar’s militias.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Libyan Army under the command of the GNA Mohammed Gununu described Khalifa Haftar and his militias as oathbreakers after they had carried out attacks on Abu Grein town with foreign aircraft cover and breached the ceasefire more than once, including attacks on Mitiga Airport and shelling on civilian neighborhoods, the last of which killed four children in Al-Hadba.
