US AFRICOM: Drone downed by Haftar’s forces is ours

The spokesman for the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) Timothy Pietrack has told Libya Alahrar TV that the drone that was downed in Benghazi, eastern Libya, was one of the US AFRICOM’s drones.

AFRICOM spokesman said the drone was doing work related to the support for diplomatic commitments to the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, in eastern Libya in coordination with the relevant authorities in the country.

“The incident is under investigation and we have no other details at this point.” AFRICOM spokesman said.

Khalifa Haftar forces’ defenses have shut down an unknown drone flying over Benina airbase in Benghazi, the director of moral guidance of Haftar’s forces Khalid Al-Mahjoub, has announced on his Facebook page on Monday.
