US ambassador to Libya arrives in Turkey to review ways of deescalation

The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, arrived in Turkey’s capital, Ankara, Thursday to discuss the situation in Libya, according to a tweet by the US embassy in Libya.

“I’m continuing my travel in Ankara today for consultations with Turkey on how best to support de-escalation and the Libyan Political Dialogue in a constructive way that returns full sovereignty to Libya.” Thje embassy said on Twitter.

This visit comes as part of the political efforts going on nowadays across different countries to bring about a political settlement to the Libyan conflict.

The efforts include Libyan Dialogue in Bouzinka, Morocco, UN-led talks in Egypt and Geneva as well as different other local movements to bring about political understandings among the warring and conflicting parties.
