Yahya: Mine clearance ends within two weeks

The Joint Military Committee (5+5) member, Mustafa Yahya, confirmed that mines and war remnants’ clearance continues and will likely end within two weeks. The committee will convene to discuss related developments.

In a press statement, he added that Benghazi-Tripoli coastal road would open after the completion of mine clearance, and all security precautions are taken.

He further mentioned that all mercenaries and foreign fighters are initially withdrawing to Benghazi and Tripoli, then leave all of Libya, depending on the committee’s agreement.

He stated that “in the meantime, the local authority will conduct inspection rounds before the coastal road is opened.” He added that “Al-Sadada bridge has not been opened yet, because it is so dangerous at the moment, and no one can bear the responsibility for that.”
