The spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Bassam Radi, said that the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the Algerian counterpart Abdelmajid Tebboune, stressed that the solution to the crisis in Libya must be Libyan-owned and Libyan-led through consensus among the people and all stakeholders in a way that guarantees the unity and sovereignty of the country.
Spokesman Radi indicated after the meeting between Al-Sisi and Tebboune that they had called for the exit of all foreign forces, mercenaries and fighters from Libya, stressing the importance of holding the Libyan presidential and parliamentary elections to allow the Libyan people to express their free will and achieve their legitimate hopes.
The two presidents indicated that it was highly important to preserve Arab national security in light of the serious challenges facing the region, reaffirming the need to strengthen the role of Libyan institutions to meet the aspirations of Libyans and Arabs in the region at large.
The Algerian President conducted an official working visit to Egypt on January 24 and 25, at the invitation of theEgyptian President, according to the Egyptian presidential spokesman.
