The Government of National Unity (GNU) said it would kick-start a new online system of e-visas for foreigners wishing to enter Libya in mid-March, saying that this system was the result of cooperation with the Passports and Citizenship Authority and the Foreign Ministry.
The announcement came in a meeting on Monday headed by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumua, and the relevant officials working on the project.
The Head of the Passports and Citizenship Authority, Yousef Murad, said that the second phase of the project would be the issuance of residence permits for foreigners residing or working in Libya as per the law. He said this phase could be launched by the end of June.
