Zallaf Libya Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company announced that the first phase of the South Refinery project has been completed, adding that work on the second and final phase had already started.
Zallaf company says the implementation and issuing of purchase orders for long-term equipment necessary for the actual start of production is being negotiated.
It denied rumors circulating on social media regarding the termination of the project, indicating that such information is untrue and that the project is progressing “on schedule”, in line with the strategic plan carried out in collaboration with National Oil Corporation.
The South Refinery is considered a vital, strategic project that aims to alleviate the prolonged fuel crisis in the Fezzan region, which is rich in oil but poor in services.
