The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Emad Al-Trabelsi, addressed the security units stationed in state-owned locations and institutions’ headquarters to quickly evacuate them within 24 hours.
Al-Trabelsi called for handing over the headquarters and institutions affiliated with the state to the Tripoli Security Directorate.
Al-Trabelsi’s statement included 20 headquarters in Tripoli, especially “Rigata, Treeg Al-Sikka (Railway Road) headquarters, the Presidential Guard headquarters, and the Cabinet Office on Treeg Al-Sikka).
He said this new step was in compliance with the Prime Minister’s decision to form a supreme security arrangements committee in Tripoli.
He also circulated to the heads of the Cabinet Office, the Audit Bureau, the Administrative Control and Anti-Corruption Authorities, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya the necessity of cooperating with the Ministry of Interior in securing the headquarters by the Tripoli Security Directorate.
The Interior Minister announced earlier the launching of a plan to secure Tripoli, which consisted of three tracks: the return of all security units to their headquarters, limiting security checkpoints on the roads to the Ministry’s personnel only, in addition to securing public buildings and state institutions.
